Mandi from Vintage Revivals offers some sage advice on how to unclutter your closets and bring organization and style to your home.

Step
With the start of a new year, Mandi likes to do a good housecleaning - no need to wait for spring. First, she created bins. She pulled out a few bins from the garage and labeled them.
Step
Starting in the kitchen, every drawer and cupboard was cleared out. Everything that is supposed to live in the garage went in one bin.
Step
Everything that was crafting/project supplies went in a second bin. Everything that was the girl's went in a third bin. Everything that was decor related went in a fourth bin. It left a wake of tidiness and extra storage throughout the house. It was beautiful.
Step
One of the biggest tasks was the "work" closet. Believe it or not, Mandi doesn't actually have an office at home. Instead she has to store things around the house. The closet in her hallway is where everything decor related goes. It needed a good edit.
Step
After a good editing and cleaning, the closet was back to shape.
Step
One of the other problems that she faced is that she is always bringing things into the house for projects like tools/supplies/finds - the stuff that makes up Vintage Revivals. She needed a designated area to put away things like this. While the average person is probably not bringing these specific types of treasures in their home on a daily basis, it was a problem for Mandi. The answer was a large basket. This is literally her catch-all. Everything that is a blog related supply goes into the basket until she needs it or has time to put it away. Doing this totally cuts down on the clutter.
