After a long winter, Michelle couldn't wait to get outside. The whole family plays, lounges, colors and eats outside. Unfortunately, her patio suffers as a result. She has wanted to spruce it up for some time now and make it an outdoor room. So when the Home Depot approached her about cleaning up with P&G products, she was totally game.
Her 3-year-old cushions were pretty dirty. She got to work with the help of
Bounty® Paper Towels and a little cleaning concoction she put together of 1.5 tsp.
Dawn Ultra® dish soap and 1.5 tsp. Borax in 1 quart warm water. She put her solution in an old, empty dish soap bottle.
First she doused (rather drenched) the entire cushion with her solution, then let it sit for about 10 minutes.
For tough stains, she gave the spots a good scrub to really work the solution in to the fibers.
If you just need to spot treat a small area you can also apply your solution, let it sit, and blot with a
Bounty® Paper Towel to transfer the stain from the cushion to the towel.
The neighbor's cat showed his approval by making himself right at home for a cat nap.
The inspiration for the color scheme of her patio makeover was this old
Coca-cola crate. Not only does it serve as her color scheme inspiration, but it's also a functional drink tray.
Kudos to her brother-in-law, Randy, for saving this old chandelier from the dumpster of a home he was remodeling a while back. Michelle's husband has tried to throw it away on several occasions but now it finally has a purpose - just like she knew it would.
To make the space truly functional and stylish, Michelle created this table using plumbing pipes and wood planks. See her full
tutorial and instructions
Using a good majority of furnishings and decor she already had plus a few new things, this space works perfectly for her family. Not only is it clean but it's functional and pretty (can't forget the pretty). Find Michelle's patio reveal in its entirety at
