Ashley from Domestic Imperfection creates live pops of color with these painted terracotta pots. It is an easy project for the whole family to create.

Step
Ashley has this great and super easy project to help bring a little outdoor color to your home that is perfect for the whole family - poured paint pots. First she gathered her supplies, which consisted of terracotta pots, Bounty® paper towels, spray paint and poly, tall glasses, and lots of leftover paint samples. All of these items can be found at The Home Depot.
Step
Then she spray painted some of the pots and set up her workspace. The pots were placed over the glasses (to keep them elevated) and over paper towels (to contain the mess). Don't forget to cover up any holes on the bottom of the pot!
Step
Next, Ashley slowly poured paint over the pots, letting it spread out and drip down the edges.
Step
Applying one color at a time, she created a layered effect. After everything was dry, Ashley sprayed them with a coat of poly to protect the paint.
Step
Once the poly was dry she got right to planting! The Bounty® paper towels played another role here to help clean the planting mess.
Step
These pots are a fun, easy, and cheap project...they would even be a great kids craft. The best part is that you can customize them to match your decor - and no two pots turn out the same! Check out Ashley's full tutorial on Domestic Imperfection.
