Mandi from Vintage Revivals takes an ordinary bedroom closet and give it a new life with some simple shelves and clever cleaning. From builder basic to signature piece, see how this door transforms a home office.

Step
Mandi's in-laws needed to change the spare room into a home office. First on the list was tackling the closet. When converting the function of their spare room, the closet became a key element in creating a space for real storage and organization.
Step
After cleaning out all the junk, Mandi removed the clothing rod and reconfigured the area to be a fully-functional linen closet with really deep shelves. The shelves were measured out of MDF from The Home Depot and then installed.
Step
Then Mandi painted the closet and the new shelves a crisp white. She broke in a new paint brush she also picked up at The Home Depot. She loves the feeling of the first few strokes with a fresh paint brush.
HOW MANDI KEEPS HER BRUSHES LIKE NEW:

First things first, Mandi always makes sure that she washes her brush with warm water and gets as much of the paint out of it as she can. Then, after she works the paint out, Mandi blots it on a Bounty® paper towel, repeating as needed. Next, to keep her brush bristles soft, she dips the brush in 8 cups of warm water and a quarter cup of Downy®. The fabric softener keeps the bristles soft until the next time she paints.
Step
Mandi threw out the builder basic closet doors and replaced them with a custom sliding screen that's made from upcycled fabric, leather from an old couch, and a conduit pipe rail. The eye bolts and the conduit allow for the door to slide, and the rollers on the bottom make it really light and easy to move.
Step
Step
Then Mandi organized the closet so that everything was easy to access when needed. Putting everything in shallow trays allowed for the items to be easily seen and easy to move around.
Step
In the end, the closet became not only a functional space-saving solution, but also a beautiful accent to the room.
